Our friends are organising a unique new concept for Holland: Short weekend boogies for beginners and intermediates, to be held 6 times a year.
The first edition is next week and Martijn will be there to organise, coach and give 2 seminars on Fridaynight.

♣ Shoulder injury

Jasper dislocated his left shoulder with a very hard off heading opening of his main canopy during the last jump of the Eurorecord. He's now in recovery which is going fine. It will most probably take 5 to 6 weeks untill the doctors will allow him to fly again. Thanks for all the get well wishes!

♣ The new European freefly record: 80 way headdown!

♣ Eurorecord 2011

Jasper is currently in Empuria (Spain) for the Freefly Eurorecord 2011. Today, people have been flying 40 and 50 ways to warm up. The first attempts will be done on Thursday and the goal is an 80 way headdown formation!

♣ 3 slots left for OctoberCamp Seville 2011

ToraTora will be traveling to Seville - in the south of Spain - from October 23 to October 29. Seville is a warm and sunny place, where they fly their ultra fast Dorniers up to 15.000 ft! The pool offers refreshment in the afternoon, right before we go out to eat some tapas (the Spanish are well known for their food).

The goal of the camp is to fly together in small groups of similar level (maximum 2 groups of 6 participants). These groups will have each their own coach (Martijn and Jasper) and will be intensively guided in the air and on the ground. Our ambition is for all flyers to be able to work on their personal goals and to push their own limits, while working on team-flying skills at the same time.

The intermediate group is now fully booked. For the advanced group there are still 3 slots available. This group will be focussing on headdown and headup formations and sequentials, aswell as movement and steep tracking. Send us an email if you want more info!

♣ Hairshave attempt fails in New Zealand.

A publication in a New Zealand newspaper by Martijn about a fundraiser for the NZ equivalent of the Dutch KiKa, for children who have cancer.. Click on the photo to see the whole article.

♣ Headdown skillscamp Texel

At the Free2Fly boogie during the queensday weekend at Texel, we're organising a headdown formation skillscamp. Jasper will be training a group in headdown formation flying. If the group is big enough and the level is high enough, we might go for a Dutch headdown record attempt on Sunday! This event is also a preparation for the Benelux headdown record, coming up in August.

If you want to join the group, send us an email. Apart from the boogie-registration there are no extra costs involved but good vibes and party instead!

♣ Martijn at national television New Zealand

Martijn jumped with what seems to be the oldest woman to make a skydive in New Zealand! Watch the newsprogram here.

♣ Martijn at Skydive University NZ

From October 2010 to May 2011, Martijn is working at the New Zealand skydiving school as a instructor. It is a beautifull drop zone located on the south island near Christchurch.
Besides AFF & TDM jumps he will be working as a coach for the students of Skydive University. In this program, students are taken from zero to professional skydiver in four months. They are on the drop zone fulltime for that period because there is a lot to learn of you want to work in the sport.
Martijn is load organising during the Summer jam Boogie 2011 together with Stephan Lipp from Flight Club. March 10 till March 13 2011.
Accommodation available 100 meters from the DZ.

♣ Freefly Adventure Russia - registration open!

The registration for our famous Freefly Adventure at Aerograd Kolomna in Russia is now open. Organised freefly groups, 1-on-1 coaching, a huge windtunnel and vodka. More info here.

♣ Bottrop windtunnelcamp November 15-18

The september windtunnel camp in Bottrop was fully booked and the progression with the students was huge. Thanks everyone for a great week!

Our next windtunnelcamp is planned: November 15 - 18. There are 6 slots available per day. You can fly 3 x 15 minutes per day for maximum 4 days (3 hous total). The price is 790 euro per hour, including coaching, video briefings and DVD's.

♣ Sad news

The DZ that was supposed to host The Artistic Flight Meet this summer, cancelled in January due to moving plans. We've been looking for a suitable alternative location since then. We talked to 4 different DZ's and clubs but none of them seems to be able to offer us what we need for this event on such short notice.

The summer is getting closer and we don't want to go for a half-measure. We don't want to organise an event that isn't what we want it to be. That's why we think the best decision now is to skip one year and use that time and energy to prepare for summer 2011. We're very sorry to dissapoint you. We'll keep you informed on the plans and we promise to make it up to you next year!

Daniel 'Phen' Saeuberli joins ToraTora

It's with pride that we're welcoming Phen into our family. As an experienced camera flyer and freeflyer and one of the most experienced mountainswoopers, he will be working with us on many different occasions. And with him simply being a great guy, we can do nothing but look forward to that coorperation.

We're leaving the 3rd of February for two weeks of windtunnelcoaching at the new 16,5 ft Freezone in Moscow. As a copy of the monster that is called "Paraclete XP" it is one of the two largest and most powerfull windtunnels on the planet. We're curious to find out...

♣ We're flying the new Sensei!

From now on we're flying the new Aerodyne Sensei as our main canopy. After our first couple of weeks we can say that this cross braced 21 cell feels like an absolute swooping machine with very much power on the rears and gentle

openings aswell. We're very excited to get some more experience on this wing!
